Trapped air inside the pump chamber will lock the tool, causing it to run continuously without dispensing any grease. To prime your tool correctly:

• Step 1: Load the fresh grease cartridge into the steel barrel and thread the barrel back onto the pump head assembly, leaving it loose by roughly 1 to 1.5 full turns.
• Step 2: Release the spring-loaded plunger rod by pressing the lock lever and push the rod hard into the barrel to compress the grease.
• Step 3: Press and hold the spring-loaded air-bleeder valve (positioned on top of the pump head) for 3 to 5 seconds to let trapped air escape, then fully tighten the barrel onto the pump head.
• Step 4: Run the trigger in short bursts until grease flows continuously from the coupler tip.

Yes, but you must expect some performance changes in sub-zero temperatures. Cold weather causes standard grease to thicken significantly (increasing its viscosity), which raises the initial flow resistance inside the tool. While 10,000 PSI cordless grease guns have ample torque to push cold lubricants, the cold grease can cause the internal pump speed to drop, resulting in slower flow rates (oz/min). Additionally, cold grease can stick to the cartridge walls, occasionally causing minor priming issues. For winter maintenance, we recommend utilizing a lighter winter-grade grease (such as NLGI Grade 0 or 1) and keeping spare cartridges inside a warm truck cab before loading.
