What is the difference between Pipe Threading and Roll Grooving?
  • Threading: Involves cutting helical grooves into the pipe wall to allow for threaded fittings. This is standard for high-pressure gas and plumbing lines under 2-4 inches.
  • Roll Grooving: A cold-forming process that "indents" a groove into the pipe without removing material. This is used for mechanical coupling systems (like Victaulic), which is faster than threading and common in fire protection and large HVAC systems.
Can the RIDGID 300 Power Drive be used for roll grooving?

Is the RIDGID 700 Power Drive safe for one-handed use?
